Cooperative Enhancement For Peace Building And Hunger Mitigation (CEFPBAHM)

Project title: Cooperative Enhancement For Peace Building And Hunger Mitigation
(CEFPBAHM)

Proponent: Western Mindanao State University (www.wmsu.edu.ph)

Project Leader : Dr. Frede G. Moreno
MECU Director

Assistant Project Leader: Mark Anthony A. Siason
Faculty, College of Liberal Arts (CLA)

PROJECT BRIEF

The Extension mandate of WMSU requires implementation of programs aimed at helping disadvantaged and marginalized communities in ZamPen. All other SUCs in Zamboanga Peninsula are similarly situated. The SUCs allocate internally generated resources to implement their own programs for the development of poor communities within their areas of coverage. Since SUCs have very limited resources, outreach remains very minimal and the number of program beneficiaries remains wanting. The proposed project will not only strengthen the cooperatives but will also improve the delivery of social services via extension programs of SUCs in the region. This will also facilitate the expansion and enhancement of the public service delivery system of the SUCs in the region.
